Resigned, disability, March 9, 1863. (Born in Gilmer County, Ga. in 1835. Died at Gainesville, Ga. July 31, 1910.)

Paris, Hezekiah M.- 2d Lieutenant May 19, 1862. Appears only on roll dated August 31, 1862. He stated in pension application filed and disapproved in Bartow County, Ga. in 1908, that he "Resigned the office of 2d Lieutenant and went home, being quite ill and disabled. Enlisted in Phillips' Battn. Geor gia State Line September 1863. Was in Indiana. Captured August 1864. Took the oath and went north." (Born in South Caro lina in 1834.)

Simmons, Richard L.- Jr. 2d Lieutenant May 19, 1862. Transferred to Co. C, and elected 2d Lieutenant May 25, 1863. Resigned November 1, 1864.

Wofford, Jacob - 1st Sergeant May 19, 1862. Transferred to Co. C, as a private May 25, 1863. Appointed 1st Sergeant December 21, 1863. Captured at Atlanta, Ga. August 13, 1864. Sent from Camp Chase, O., via New Orleans, La. for exchange, May 2, 1865. Received at Vicksburg, Miss. May 12, 1865. (Born in Spartanburg, S. C. October 7, 1840.)

Simmons, Henry R.- Enlisted as a private in Co. E, 23d Regiment Ga. Inf. August 31, 1861. Appointed 2d Sergeant of Co. L, 43d Regiment Ga. Inf. May 19, 1862. Transferred to Co. C, May 25, 1863. Appointed 3d Sergeant December 1863. Captured at Atlanta, Ga. September 17, 1864. Died of pleurisy at Camp Douglas, Ill. April 4, 1865.

Taylor, Augustus C.- 3d Sergeant May 19, 1862. Roll dated November 9, 1862, last on which borne, shows him present.

Wofford, Eber - 4th Sergeant May 19, 1862. Transferred to Co. C, as a private May 25, 1863. Wounded in right leg, necessitating amputation, at Bentonville, N. C. March 19, 1865. Paroled in General Hospital at Thomasville, N. C. May 1, 1865. (Resident of Ga. since February 1, 1872. Died December 4, 1916.)

Swafford, William N.- 5th Sergeant May 19, 1862. Transferred to Co. C, as a private May 25, 1863. Captured at Vicks burg, Miss. July 4, 1863, and paroled there July 7, 1863. Roll dated February 29, 1864, last on file, shows him present. No later record.

Reece, John - 2d Corporal May 19, 1862. Transferred to Co. C, as a private May 25, 1863. Deserted near Dalton, Ga. January 29, 1864. Took oath of allegiance to U. S. Govt. at Chattanooga, Tenn. and released February 14, 1864.

Tatum, Samuel - 3d Corporal May 19, 1862. Transferred to Co. C, as a private May 25, 1863. Captured near Atlanta, Ga. July 22, 1864. Released at Camp Chase, O. May 8, 1865.

Hazelwood, Joseph Jasper - 4th Corporal May 19, 1862. Captured at Baker's Creek, Miss. May 16, 1863. Transferred to Co. C, May 25, 1863. Exchanged July 6, 1863. Roll dated February 29, 1864, last on file, shows him absent without leave. Pension records show he was "On hospital duty close of war." (Born in South Carolina December 22, 1837.)
