While en route home on 30 days' furlough back was severely sprained in railroad wreck near Montgomery, Ala. Unable to return to command. Enlisted as a private in Co. F, 11th Regiment Ga. Militia Cavalry. Surrendered at Kingston, Ga. May 12,1865. (Born in Pickens District, S. C. December 10,1843. Died in Fulton County, Ga. March 5,1919.)
